Grandma's Crock Pot Green Beans with Ham



Green beans, string beans, or snap beans are a rich source of vitamins A, C, and K, and of folic acid and fiber. They have similar nutritional benefits similar to snap peas and okra. Green beans with ham is a delicious crock pot meal that is easy to make to enjoy along with any meals of your choice. This is my grandmother’s secret recipe.

Shopping list/Ingredients
  • A teaspoon of Salt
  • Two tablespoons of butter
  • Two tablespoons of pepper
  • A pinch of sugar
  • Slices of ham/bacon 
Kitchen equipment
  • A cutting board
  • A chef knife
  • A bowl to hold the ham or bacon
  • A crock pot


Instructions

1. Snap and string the beans and then rinse them well.

2. Put a few cups of water, and butter for seasoning, into the crock pot.

3. Add a pinch of sugar and a slab of ham with salt and pepper.

4. Cook them on high for 3-4 hours.
